About this event
South Central Vermont Driving Tour
GMR members Fred and Nancy Sperling are planning a driving tour that begins at the South Woodstock Fire Station and will end at their home in South Woodstock. For the tour Fred plans to take us on some of the classic “Porsche” roads in the south-central Vermont area. From South Woodstock we will travel to the Chester/Ludlow area then proceeding to Echo Lake and traversing back to their home over Kingdom Road.
The tour will be approximately 75 miles in length and is expected to take about 1.5 – 2 hours of driving time. We will assemble in the parking lot at the South Woodstock Fire Station ( VT-106, South Woodstock, VT 05071) with the pre-tour participant meeting at 10.30am with a prompt departure at 11.00am.
At the tour’s conclusion the Sperling’s have invited all participants for join them for a cook-out (hot dogs and pulled pork barbecue sandwiches) at their home at 800 Noah Wood Road, South Woodstock, VT 05071. Hot dogs, pulled pork barbecue sandwiches and water will be provided. If you will be joining the after tour festivities, we ask that you please bring a side dish or dessert to share along with your favorite beverage. Please note that the final .8 miles to the Sperling residence is on a well maintained gravel road.
